We are working with a prestigious independent school in North London.  They are seeking a meticulous and committed Exams Officer to join our dedicated administrative team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of all internal and external examinations, maintaining the high standards and integrity expected within our academic community.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of the examination process, including entries, timetabling, rooming, invigilation, and results.
  • Liaise effectively with exam boards, teaching staff, and senior leadership to ensure all exam regulations and deadlines are met.
  • Ensure full compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations.
  • Recruit, train, and manage invigilators for both internal and external examinations.
  • Maintain secure storage and handling of confidential examination materials.
  • Prepare and distribute examination timetables, seating plans, and candidate information.
  • Oversee post-results services, including remarks and appeals.
  • Provide data and analysis of examination results to senior leadership.

 

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience as an Exams Officer or in a similar administrative role within education (experience in an independent school desirable).
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure, particularly during exam periods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using examination and school management systems (e.g. ISAMS, SIMS, or similar).
  • Thorough understanding of JCQ regulations and procedures.
  • Discreet, professional, and able to handle sensitive information with integrity.
