DT Technician (Term Time Only – 39 Weeks)

Pro Rata Salary: £25,189 to £26,352 (Full-Time Salary: £29,412 - £30,771)
Location: Fulham

My client, a school located in Fulham, is looking for a proactive and dedicated DT Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the Design Technology department runs smoothly and safely, supporting both staff and students in a hands-on, creative learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold health, safety, and welfare standards in the DT and associated curriculum areas.
  • Provide practical support during Design Technology, Construction, and Art lessons.
  • Prepare, set up, and organize equipment and materials before lessons, and ensure everything is tidied away afterwards.
  • Assist small groups of students during lessons and offer additional support outside of lesson times.
  • Manage resources and materials, ensuring they are ready for lessons and exams.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as photocopying, laminating, and materials disposal.
  • Conduct routine stock checks, liaise with premises staff, and ensure the timely procurement of supplies.
  • Carry out basic maintenance and repairs on equipment, as well as regular safety checks.
  • Support with risk assessments (including COSHH) and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assist in the planning and setting up of exhibitions and displays for the Art and DT departments.
  • Provide guidance to students on improving their projects, and supervise the use of equipment.

Person Specification:

  • Ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Strong communication skills and a good level of education.
  • Positive, adaptable, and able to perform well under pressure.
  • Comfortable working within a school environment.
  • Flexible and willing to take on additional duties as requested by the Head of Department or Head Teacher.
